General Information - Suffolk Exhibition Budgerigars

Suffolk Budgies is a web site designed to allow potential buyers of exhibition budgies to view and select any budgies that the would like to purchase.

Suffolk budgies web site is not a company,it is just a tool to enable easier viewing of birds.

My name is John Gibbens I live on the Suffolk/Essex border,near Sudbury. I am a successful keen breeder and shower of exhibition budgies. On occasions I obtain birds from local champion breeders that are surplus birds that i will sell to other breeders.

I hold Champion Status in the Budgerigar Society. I regularly attend Open Shows and am often awarded Challenge certificates for a variety of colours.I also breed and show colour Budgies (miniatures) and have on a number of times been awarded best in shows I have been a member of the Budgerigar Society for the past 10 years my ring number is G3897.I am also a keen member of the Ipswich Budgerigar Society and maintain their web site. You may see me at local shows.Over the last few years I Have been awarded nearly 100 Challenge Certificates as Intermediate and as a Champion. (19 in 2024,19 in 2025 and 15 in 2026 (4 shows)

I specialise in producing Opalines In Blues and Greens,And tend to win these Classes at most shows

I welcome any visits to the bird room and are happy to provide ongoing advice to new keepers. WhatsApp is a useful tool to keep in contact with.

My bird room is a modern setup kept clean and mite free.The birds when not breeding have full access to large outside flights.

From November to April I will have baby budgies that have been specifically selected to be pets.These are not hand reared but handled regularly in the nest box. once fledged they are handled twice a day and will be finger tame to me. Because of the effort put in these will sell between £50 and £75 depending on quality and colour and how tame they are. Babies can be reserved at a early stage to avoid disappointment.

I will arrange courier transportation (Please see the Sales Page for full details) you should be aware that this is an expensive option which will cost for the transport and the container. There is a minimum spend of £225 for this service. I prefer any prospective owners to come and view before buying.

I may deliver locally up to around a 50 miles radius please ask for costs for this service.
